Job Description

Cloud Cost Optimization:

Lead initiatives to optimize cloud spend across multiple cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Develop and implement strategies for cost savings, including rightsizing, reserved instances, and usage optimization.

Work closely with engineering and operations teams to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising performance.

Forecasting & Budgeting:

Build and maintain cloud cost forecasting models to predict future spending and support financial planning.

Collaborate with finance teams to integrate cloud costs into overall business forecasting and budgeting processes.

Monitor cloud spend against forecasts, identify variances, and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.

Advanced Cost Allocation:

Design and implement advanced cost allocation models to accurately distribute cloud costs across business units, products, and

services.

Ensure transparency in cost allocation to promote accountability and informed decision-making.

Collaborate with finance and engineering teams to continuously refine allocation methods.

FinOps Tool Management:

Utilize and manage major FinOps tools (e.g., CloudHealth, Cloudability, Apptio, etc.) to monitor, analyze, and report on cloud

financials.

Evaluate and recommend new tools or enhancements to existing tools to improve FinOps capabilities.

Train and mentor team members on the effective use of FinOps tools and best practices.

Stakeholder Communication:

Act as a subject matter expert on cloud financial management, providing insights and guidance to senior leadership.

Prepare and present detailed financial reports, dashboards, and recommendations to various stakeholders, including executives.

Work cross-functionally with teams to ensure alignment on cloud cost management objectives.

Continuous Improvement:

Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in FinOps and cloud cost management.

Lead initiatives to continuously improve FinOps processes, tools, and methodologies.

Drive a culture of cost-consciousness and financial accountability across the organization.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.

Relevant certifications (e.g., FinOps Certified Practitioner, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner) are a plus.

Experience:

Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in FinOps, cloud financial management, or a related field.

Proven track record of cloud cost optimization, forecasting, and advanced cost allocation in a large-scale cloud environment.

Hands-on experience with major FinOps tools (e.g., CloudHealth, Cloudability, Apptio, etc.).

Skills:

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.

Proficient in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and understanding of their pricing models.

Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modeling and forecasting.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Team-oriented with a collaborative approach to work.
