As a Security Architect, you will designs, builds, and oversees the implementation of network and computer security infrastructure for organizations. They are responsible for creating secure IT systems, conducting vulnerability assessments, and managing risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Architecture: Develop secure, resilient IT architecture, including firewalls, VPNs, and routers.
- Risk Management: Perform vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and threat modeling to identify system weaknesses.
- Security Implementation: Implement security controls, such as encryption, IAM (Identity and Access Management), and authentication protocols.
- Incident Response: Plan for and lead response efforts for security breaches and conduct post-event analysis.
- Strategic Planning: Align security initiatives with business goals and manage project budgets.
- Compliance: Ensure all systems adhere to industry standards and security policies.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of network security, cryptography, and operating systems.
- Experience: 5-10 years in IT risk management or information security.
- Education: Bachelor's or Associate's degree in computer science, IT, or related field.
- Certifications: CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) or SABSA are often preferred.
- Communication: Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
