Job Purpose:

Responsible for overseeing the development, communication, and implementation of robust information governance processes, policies, and practices within the organization. This role also coordinates the creation and continuous improvement of project management guidelines that support the function's core services. The Governance Manager plays a critical role in supporting supplier management, knowledge management, and strategies in line with global guidelines and procedures. Moreover, this role actively participates in designing, continuously improving, and transforming the IT environment to enhance efficiency and alignment with organizational goals.

The Governance Manager plays a crucial role in shaping information governance, project management, and IT environment transformation, contributing significantly to the organization's effectiveness and long-term success. They are also responsible for defining and operating a framework for making decisions, managing stakeholder relationships, and identifying legitimate authority.

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Governance Framework Development

- Develop, implement, and maintain governance frameworks and structures.

- Define policies and procedures to guide decision-making and operations.

- Develop and maintain policies and procedures to address compliance requirements

- Ensure alignment of governance with industry regulations and best practices.

- Continuously assess and improve governance practices.

2. Process Design and Transformation

- Lead efforts to design and continuously improve the function to enhance efficiency and alignment with organizational goals.

- Drive transformation processes to optimize technology infrastructure, systems, and services.

- Coordinate the creation and continuous improvement of project management guidelines that align with organizational objectives.

- Collaborate with project managers and teams to ensure adherence to project management best practices.

3. Continuous Improvement

- Identify opportunities for enhancing governance practices.

- Lead or participate in governance-related projects and initiatives.

- Stay informed about industry trends and emerging governance practices.

- Recommend improvements to governance policies and procedures.

4. Knowledge Management

- Facilitate knowledge management initiatives to capture, organize, and share valuable organizational knowledge.

- Develop strategies to enhance knowledge sharing and collaboration across teams.

5. Reporting and Documentation

- Maintain accurate records of governance activities.

- Generate reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.

- Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant parties.

6. Stakeholder Communication

- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on governance matters.

- Liaise with regulatory bodies, auditors, and legal advisors.

- Provide guidance and information to senior management and board members.

Quantitative KPIs:

- Number of governance models defined to support new policies

- Number of governance processes defined to support new policies

Qualitative KPIs:

- Effectiveness of implemented governance frameworks, guidelines, and processes.

- Improvement in organization's culture in compliance and policy adherence.

- Standardization of governance forums with clear decision-making rights.

Education/Training Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Law, Governance).

- Certification in governance and/or process design is advantageous.

Experience:

- 10 years of experience in governance, process design, transformation roles.

- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing governance frameworks.

- Experience designing digital technology environments and leading IT transformation processes.

- Possess a proven track record in supplier management, project management, and risk methodologies.

- Be a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.

- Strong understanding of relevant regulations and industry standards.
