Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the majority of layout creation of the factory, and flexible to support capacity modeling.
  • Lead and manage the layout of the factory and capacity

Education & Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering with at least 1-2 years of relevant work experience in Autocad, Microsoft office, and PowerBI

Skills

  • Leadership capabilities to manage a virtual team
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and enjoy the process of problem-solving
  • Expert in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Work effectively with other members of Coherent Corp.
  • Initiate and drive meeting alignment with other departments

Working Conditions

  • This role is 100% onsite / hybrid / remote

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the layout design process for manufacturing facilities, ensuring optimal space utilization and efficient workflow.
  • Develop and maintain capacity models to forecast production capabilities and identify potential bottlenecks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and supply chain, to align layout and capacity plans with overall business objectives.
  • Conduct regular reviews and analyses of manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements.
  • Manage and mentor a team of layout designers and capacity analysts, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality work.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in industrial engineering and manufacturing, and incorporate innovative ideas into our processes.
  • Prepare and present layout and capacity reports to senior management, providing clear and concise recommendations for process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as environmental standards, in all layout and capacity planning activities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for waste reduction and process optimization.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team, promoting a positive and productive work environment.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience in industrial engineering, with a focus on layout design and capacity modeling.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate a team of professionals.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Proficiency in using layout design software and tools, such as AutoCAD or similar programs.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and best practices in the industry.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A proactive and results-oriented mindset, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
