Job Description

Job Summary

The Industrial Engineer (Inventory Control) is responsible for planning, analyzing, and improving inventory management processes to ensure optimal stock levels, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency. This role focuses on developing data-driven solutions that enhance inventory visibility, minimize losses, improve warehouse operations, and support business continuity.

Working closely with Procurement, Warehouse, Sales, Production, and Finance, the Industrial Engineer evaluates inventory performance, recommends process improvements, and implements best practices that optimize inventory utilization while maintaining high service levels and operational excellence.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Inventory Planning & Control

  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate stock availability while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory
  • Develop and maintain inventory control procedures that improve accuracy, accountability, and efficiency
  • Analyze inventory movements, stock turnover, reorder points, and safety stock levels to support operational requirements
  • Review inventory transactions and investigate discrepancies to maintain accurate inventory records
  • Coordinate regular cycle counts and physical inventory activities, ensuring timely reconciliation of inventory variances
  • Recommend inventory optimization strategies that improve stock utilization and reduce carrying cost

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, shortages, slow-moving items, and excess store
  • Prepare inventory performance reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators for Management
  • Monitor inventory accuracy, stock aging, inventory turnover, and warehouse performance metrics
  • Provide recommendations based on data analysis to support purchasing, sales forecasting, and operational planning
  • Assist Management in developing inventory forecasts and capacity planning

Warehouse & Operations Coordination

  • Collaborate with Warehouse, Procurement, Production, and Sales teams to ensure efficient inventory flow
  • Coordinate inventory requirements for incoming and outgoing materials to support project and customer demands
  • Assist in developing warehouse layouts and storage strategies that maximize space utilization and material accessibility
  • Monitor inventory handling practices to minimize damage, waste, and stock losses
  • Support warehouse initiatives that improve productivity, safety, and operational efficiency

Systems & Inventory Compliance

  • Maintain accurate inventory records within the ERP or inventory management system
  • Ensure inventory transactions are recorded accurately and completed prompt
  • Assist in implementing inventory control technologies, barcode systems, and warehouse management tools
  • Support internal and external inventory audits by preparing required documentation and reports
  • Ensure compliance with company inventory policies and established operational procedures

WHO YOU ARE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering
  • Licensed Industrial Engineer is an advantage but not required
  • Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, supply chain, logistics, or manufacturing
  • Experience with ERP systems, inventory management software, or warehouse management systems is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of inventory planning, warehouse operations, and process improvement methodologies
  • Experience in construction materials, manufacturing, industrial products, or distribution is an advantage

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, Power Query, and data analysis tools
  • Experience with ERP, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), or inventory management software
  • Knowledge of inventory forecasting and demand planning techniques
  • Understanding of warehouse operations and logistics processes
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, or other continuous improvement methodologies is preferred
  • Ability to analyze large datasets and develop operational reports and dashboards
