The Import Compliance Coordinator assists in arranging, filing, and monitoring all import-related shipments for all commodities. This role ensures strict accuracy and completeness of documentation to facilitate smooth customs clearance, regulatory compliance, and the minimization of port penalties.

Key Accountabilities

  • Documentation & Customs Clearance: Ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation to facilitate smooth customs clearance and compliance with regulations. Maintain organized records of import transactions and related documents for auditing purposes.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on import regulations, trade laws, tariffs, and international trade agreements relevant to the cement industry. Ensure imports adhere to local and international compliance standards, including safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
  • Stakeholder & Agency Collaboration: Collaborate with regulatory agencies, customs officials, and legal advisors to resolve compliance issues. Serve as a primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customs authorities regarding importation activities.
  • Operations & Cost Monitoring: Monitor shipment statuses and oversee customs clearance processes to minimize delays. Monitor import-related costs, including duties, tariffs, transportation fees, and insurance expenses.
  • Quality Assurance & Risk Management: Conduct quality inspections and audits of imported materials to verify compliance with quality requirements. Implement corrective actions and improvements to maintain product quality and reliability. Monitor and assess the effectiveness of risk management measures.
  • Reporting: Communicate importation status updates, regulatory changes, and compliance issues to relevant departments. Prepare and distribute reports, presentations, and documentation related to importation operations and compliance activities.

Qualifications

  • Relevant work experience in importation operations and compliance.
  • Solid concept of importation procedures and administrative tasks.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and oral) and highly organized.
  • Fast learner with the ability to adapt easily, multi-task, work under pressure, and remain flexible
  • College graduate of Customs Administration or Customs Management or related courses
