Job description:
As a Hydraulic Estimator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of hydraulic and plumbing projects by providing project management assistance and preparing accurate quantity estimates. The role requires strong knowledge of plumbing systems, AS3500 standards, and cost estimation. The position involves supporting planning, coordination, and execution of projects while working closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure efficient and high-quality project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Support:Assist project managers with planning, scheduling, and tracking plumbing and hydraulic projects.
- Hydraulic & Plumbing Expertise:Apply knowledge of hydraulic systems and plumbing standards (AS3500) to review designs, drawings, and project specifications.
- Quantity Estimation:Prepare accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment.
- Documentation & Reporting:Maintain organized records of estimates, project plans, and correspondence; support reporting requirements.
- Client & Stakeholder Interaction:Assist in communicating with clients, suppliers, and contractors to clarify project requirements and ensure smooth execution.
- Coordination & Collaboration:Support project teams by coordinating resources, tracking progress, and identifying potential issues or risks.
- Continuous Improvement:Stay updated on industry standards, plumbing materials, and construction techniques to provide expert guidance.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a hydraulic engineer, plumbing engineer, or hydraulic estimator in construction or building services.
- Strong understanding of plumbing systems, AS3500 standards, and hydraulic design principles.
- Experience in quantity take-offs and cost estimation.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel; knowledge of estimating software is a plus.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with internal teams, clients, and contractors.
- Ability to provide project management support and assist in coordinating multiple projects.
