Role Description The Human Resources Director is a full-time, on-site role based at Discovery Samal in Samal. This position oversees the full HR function, including workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compensation and benefits, and employee relations. The role includes developing and implementing HR policies, ensuring compliance with labor laws and company standards, and serving as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on people-related strategies. The Human Resources Director leads HR initiatives that support engagement, training and development, and succession planning, while fostering a positive, inclusive workplace culture. The role also involves managing HR operations and data, driving continuous improvement in HR processes, and collaborating closely with department heads to align HR strategies with resort goals.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience leading human resources functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and HR operations.
  • Strong skills in HR strategy development, organizational planning, and change management to support business objectives.
  • Solid knowledge of labor laws, regulatory compliance, and best practices in workplace policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability in talent development, training program design, and leadership coaching.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to build trust at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience managing HR teams, budgets, and HR systems or HRIS tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced HR certifications or graduate studies are an advantage.
  • Background in hospitality, resort operations, or service-driven industries is highly preferred.
  • Ability to work on-site in Samal and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
