Job Description

The Human Resources Assistant provides administrative support to DLA's HR function from our remote operations hub in the Philippines. This role focuses on data accuracy, recordkeeping, HRIS maintenance, and process coordination across the employee lifecycle, working closely with the US-based HR Business Partner and payroll team.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate employee records across HRIS and electronic systems, including benefits enrollment data, status changes, and supporting documentation.
  • Process benefits enrollment changes, life event updates, and open enrollment data entry in UKG.
  • Coordinate administrative components of open enrollment, tracking elections, reconciling data, and flagging discrepancies.
  • Support payroll by preparing benefits deduction updates, remittance reports, and enrollment change notifications.
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding tasks including new hire paperwork, background screening coordination, system data entry, and I-9 tracking.
  • Prepare employment verifications, unemployment claim documentation, and standard HR correspondence.
  • Maintain and organize HR document libraries consistent with firm recordkeeping standards.
  • Support HR compliance and reporting by compiling data and preparing standard reports.
  • Assist with scheduling, calendar management, and logistics for HR programs and trainings.

Qualifications & skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in HR administration or a similar data/records-focused role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience with HRIS or benefits administration platforms; UKG experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and document management.
  • Solid written English communication skills; ability to draft clear, professional correspondence.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment across time zones.
  • Familiarity with US benefits or HR concepts is a plus, training will be provided.
