At Jacobs, our Power Solutions team is geared towards providing a more integrated approach offering end-to-end service to support our clients in energy networks, thermal generation, renewable generation and storage solutions space. We are helping our clients meet the challenges faced in countries and cities across the globe, providing innovative solutions from replacing conventional thermal power plants with renewable energy to developing demand side management strategies.
We are currently looking for a
HSE Officer. This role shall provide support, coordination and advice of safety practices, systems and procedures within defined workplaces. You will also monitor compliance with the safety systems and procedures within the workplace and provide operational support to the Project Management Teams and Leadership Teams in your designated operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the owner's HSE representative on-site, ensuring all activities align with contractual and regulatory obligations.
- Monitor contractor HSE performance and escalate non-compliance issues to the owner.
- Participate in project meetings and provide HSE updates to the owner.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards and verify compliance.
- Review and approve contractor safety plans, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Lead incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Ensure adherence to environmental permits and local regulations.
- Monitor waste management, pollution control, and site sustainability practices.
- Support implementation of the Environmental Management Plan (EMP).
- Ensure contractors conduct appropriate HSE training and toolbox talks.
- Promote a safety-first culture across all site personnel.
- Verify that emergency response plans are in place and tested.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.
- Prepare HSE reports for the owner, including risk assessments and compliance summaries.
- Ensure all documentation is complete for project handover and regulatory review.
Here's what you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such Environmental Science, Engineering, or other related field.
- Relevant experience in related field such as safety, health, and environment in a construction site setup preferably Power Plant.
- Must have valid First Aid, COSH for SO2 or COSH training + LCM (Loss Control Management) for SO3 accredited by DOLE.
- Solar PV and BESS experience is an advantage.
- Able to work with minimal supervision and tight deadline.
- Willingness to be assigned onsite by project basis.
