Position Summary
The Compensation and Benefits Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of both company and government benefits, as well as payroll for all employees using HRIS software. This role requires deep knowledge of government and payroll regulations, strong attention to detail, and hands‑on experience with payroll system to manage end‑to‑end payroll activities, reporting, compliance, and employee inquiries.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Processing
- Process full‑cycle payroll using HRIS system (including HRIS data entry, timekeeping validation, adjustments, and final runs).
- Maintain and review payroll data for accuracy: hours worked, overtime, leaves, deductions, and reimbursements.
- Prepare and issue payslips, reports, and other payroll‑related documentation.
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure payroll practices comply with government regulations (taxes, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag‑IBIG, etc.).
- Prepare mandatory contributions and statutory reports using HRIS system built‑in modules.
- Generate payroll summaries, financial reports, YTD data, and audit trails as needed.
Benefits Administration andEmployee Support
- End to end processing of government-mandated benefits from application/ request, disbursement, up to reimbursement from government agencies.
- Address employee questions regarding government- mandated benefits, earnings, deductions, contributions, and pay discrepancies.
- Coordinate with respective departments on compensation updates, new hires, separations, and salary adjustments.
System & Data Management
- Maintain employee payroll records within HRIS system, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Troubleshoot basic HRIS system issues and coordinate with the vendor when needed.
- Recommend improvements to payroll processes and participate in payroll system upgrades or enhancements.
- Provide data analysis related to payroll costs i.e. overtime, absent deductions, etc. and provide recommendation where possible
Records Management
- As the Records Management champion for HR, set the guidelines / standards in document inventory and safekeeping
- Assist HR team members in identifying important documents and filing these according to the guidelines set for the department
- Maintain inventory of documents for total HR
- Ensure all employee 201 files and compben related documents are complete, properly collated, labeled, and secured in assigned storage area
- Update records and upload documents per person in HRIS System related to employee 201 file
KPI
Timekeeping and Payroll
- Accurate computation and on time payroll pay-out/ implementation (every 14th/29th of the month)
- Minimal to zero escalation related to timekeeping and payroll
- Accurate and on time payroll reports submission, reconciliation where needed, and upload in government portals (submission to Finance deadline: Payroll reports: at most 3rd of the month; HDMF – 5th, PHIC – 10th, SSS – 20th or earlier)
- Zero government remittance penalty due to delayed report submission
- Zero missed reimbursements i.e. Sickness, Maternity
Records Management
- Up to date 201 files, both hard and soft copies (at most 3mos from hire date)
- Complete HRIS data, especially critical-to-payroll information (within 30days from date of hire)
- Up to date inventory of HR records and documents; monthly reporting of records update and supplies
Qualifications:
Graduate of Psychology, Accounting, or Business related course
Must have at least 2years solid experience on Compensation and Benefits administration as well as Payroll processing
Must be a part of a discipleship group
