Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive associate to join our Background Adjudication team. This role supports the HR Shared Services department by reviewing, analyzing, and adjudicating background check results in accordance with company policies and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate and timely decision-making, maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information, and provide clear, consistent support to internal stakeholders. This position plays a critical role in ensuring a fair, compliant, and efficient background screening process while delivering a high standard of service.
Key Responsibilities
• Review Background Information: Analyze criminal history, credit reports, employment records, education history, and other relevant information as part of the background check process.
• Adjudication Decisions: Make informed decisions regarding the suitability of individuals based on established policies, procedures, and legal guidelines.
• Risk Assessment: Identify potential red flags or discrepancies in the background data and assess their impact on the candidate's eligibility.
• Documentation & Reporting: Prepare detailed reports documenting the adjudication process and decisions. Maintain accurate records of all background investigations.
• Compliance Management: Ensure all adjudication processes comply with federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies and security clearance requirements.
• Collaboration: Work closely with HR, Legal, and Security teams to facilitate smooth adjudication, provide recommendations, and escalate complex cases when necessary.
• Continuous Monitoring: Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and best practices to ensure the adjudication process remains effective and compliant.
Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; or equivalent work experience.
• Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in background investigations, human resources, security clearance processes, or a related field.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) regulations, and other relevant U.S. laws. Experience in document validation and adjudication is required.
• Strong Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on providing exceptional service to employees at all levels.
• Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with a high level of accuracy in data entry and document management.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot issues and provide solutions in a timely and professional manner.
• Confidentiality: Strong understanding of data privacy regulations and a commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of employee information.

Working Conditions
• Full-time position.
• Work Hours: 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM Eastern Time (Graveyard/Evening Shift), Monday to Friday.
• Schedule: Shifting schedule and may require occasional overtime depending on departmental needs.
