What's The Role
As an HR Operations Advisor supporting Shell's businesses in Latin America, you will provide day-to-day HR support to employees and managers across a range of areas, including employee relations, leave management, benefits, policy guidance, organizational changes, and workforce administration. You'll act as a trusted HR partner, helping managers navigate people-related matters, interpreting HR policies, driving a positive employee experience, supporting change initiatives, and leveraging HR data and insights to support informed decision-making.
What You'll Be Doing
- Provide end-to-end HR advisory support to employees and managers across employee lifecycle matters, including exits, redundancies, policy interpretation, leave and absence management, retirement, and benefits.
- Support managers with organizational management and workforce administration requests.
- Advise employees and managers on local and global HR policies, ensuring consistent and compliant application.
- Interpret and apply HR policies to business situations, exercising sound judgment and managing exceptions within governance guidelines.
- Support the delivery of local and global HR initiatives and change programs.
- Analyze HR data and insights from Workday and other systems to identify trends, risks, and actionable recommendations.
- Enhance employee experience by proactively addressing employee and manager needs.
- Coach and guide managers on people matters to ensure fair, compliant, and effective decision-making.
- Coordinate and support business transformation activities, including organizational redesigns, workforce ramp-ups, and demobilizations, in collaboration with cross-functional HR teams.
- Drive process improvements through simplification, standardization, automation, and digitalization.
- Utilize digital and AI-enabled tools to improve operational efficiency and employee experience.
- Build trusted partnerships across HR and the business, serving as a credible advisor on employee lifecycle matters.
- Executes HR processes requiring policy interpretation and decision-making within established guidelines, with a strong understanding of HR operations and business impact.
- Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) or Process Focal Point for complex HR processes and policy-related matters.
- Manages exceptions using established frameworks, exercising sound judgment and escalating issues when appropriate.
- Supports onboarding, training, and development of new and junior team members.
- Contributes to continuous improvement initiatives, project workstreams, and team capability-building efforts.
- Owns complex cases while balancing employee experience, policy compliance, operational effectiveness, and business needs.
What You Bring
- Fluent in Spanish, with strong verbal and written communication skills (reading, writing, and speaking).
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in HR Operations, HR Advisory, Employee Relations, or a related human resources function.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) and an understanding of how AI can enhance efficiency, automate processes, and improve employee experience is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret HR data and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with a demonstrated commitment to inclusion and alignment with Shell's values of honesty, integrity, and respect for people.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural, and virtual work environment.
