About The Role

About the job HR Coordinator (Industrial Relations)

The role is responsible in proactively driving people engagement, retention and culture alignment in the organization by setting clear expectations and standards to support the operational leaders. Oversees provision of support services in accordance with Austal values, behaviours, standards, policies and ensures alignment with statutory employment regulations

Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Help ensure workforce demand and supply are planned in line with short‑, medium‑, and long‑term business objectives.
  • Consolidate and challenge headcount, skills, and capability forecasts based on business plans, project pipelines, and productivity assumptions.
  • Proactively identify skills shortages, critical role gaps, succession risks, and over/under‑capacity issues.
  • Enable data‑driven workforce decisions by providing workforce analytics to support hiring plans, internal mobility, redeployment, and other workforce decisions.
  • Help facilitate collaboration and information flow by checking structures will reduce silos, improve cross‑functional coordination, and support end‑to‑end accountability.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders to drive inclusion and belonging initiatives in the company
  • Establish organizational communication frameworks to facilitate aligned and proper messaging and to encourage recognition of value adding contribution
  • Develop and review organizational policies and programs in alignment with organizational standards and labour laws
  • Ensure consistent application of KPIs and corrective actions across teams, including initiation and tracking of PIPs as required.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Human Resources Degree (4 years) or equivalent
    • Specific specialty employee engagement, relations and in relevant disciplines within the HR field
    • Minimum 3 years experience in an HR supervisory or junior managerial role or business equivalent
    • Direct experience in the key areas of responsibility detailed above (candidates to describe).
    • Highly PC literate – MS Office applications and HRIS
    • Proven project management skills (scheduling, resource management etc.)
    • Strong business acumen
    • Ability to lead and act as part of a team
Desirable

  • Has background with ISO requirements
  • Experienced in multinational set up.
