The HR Accounting Specialist is responsible for payroll administration, statutory compliance, tax reporting, bookkeeping, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. The role ensures accurate and timely employee compensation, compliance with government regulations, and integrity of payroll and accounting records.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Administration
- Coordinate with the payroll vendor to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. Prepare, validate, and submit payroll inputs, including attendance, leaves, overtime, allowances, deductions, salary adjustments, and final pay.
- Review payroll reports and reconcile payroll outputs prior to release.
- Process manual payroll for expatriates and consultants.
- Resolve payroll-related concerns and maintain confidentiality of payroll and compensation records.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, labor laws, and statutory requirements.
Government Compliance and Tax Reporting
- Prepare and facilitate timely remittance of SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and BIR contributions, taxes, and deductions.
- Prepare and submit BIR forms and reports, including Forms 1601-C, 1604-CF, 1606 (as applicable), and the Annual Alphalist of Employees.
- Monitor filing deadlines and ensure timely, accurate submissions.
- Coordinate with government agencies and relevant stakeholders to address compliance, audit, and payroll-related concerns.
- Maintain accurate records and stay updated on regulatory changes affecting payroll and taxation.
Accounting and Financial Reporting
- Maintain accounting records, general ledger entries, and payroll-related journal entries.
- Perform account reconciliations, including payroll accounts, employee advances, bank accounts, and general ledger balances.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare account schedules, supporting documents, and financial reports.
- Support internal and external audits and address reconciliation discrepancies.
Administrative Support
- Maintain organized payroll, tax, and accounting records.
- Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll and statutory deductions.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance payroll and accounting efficiency.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualification
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, Human Resource Management, or a related field.
Experience
- At least 2-3 years of experience in payroll, accounting, or bookkeeping.
- Experience in payroll vendor management, government remittances, BIR compliance, and account reconciliations.
- Experience in financial reporting and audit support is preferred
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong knowledge of Philippine payroll regulations, labor laws, and taxation.
- Proficiency in accounting principles, payroll systems, and accounting software.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
