THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a commercially astute and operationally strong General Manager to lead an established 100-200 room hotel located in Manila, a key leisure and events destination.
The hotel features multiple food and beverage outlets and extensive meetings, events, and function spaces, catering to corporate retreats, conferences, weddings, and social events. This is a prime opportunity for a GM with a strong MICE and events background to further elevate the hotel's positioning, drive revenue growth, and strengthen its reputation as a leading events destination in the region.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As General Manager, you will have full accountability for the hotel's operational, financial, and commercial performance, with a strong emphasis on MICE, group business, and events-driven revenue streams.
You will lead all departments, working closely with sales, events, and F&B teams to maximise venue utilisation, grow banquet and group revenue, and deliver seamless, high-quality event experiences. You will also partner with ownership and La Vie's regional leadership team to deliver sustainable results and long-term asset value.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the overall operations of the hotel, ensuring excellence across rooms, food & beverage, events, and guest experience
- Drive MICE, events, and group business performance, maximising revenue from function spaces, weddings, conferences, and corporate events
- Develop and execute commercial strategies to grow rooms, F&B, and banquet revenue
- Oversee financial performance including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and P&L delivery
- Build, lead, and mentor a strong executive team, with particular focus on Sales, Events, and F&B leadership
- Ensure exceptional delivery of conferences, events, and large-scale functions from planning through to execution
- Strengthen relationships with corporate clients, event organisers, wedding planners, and local business partners
- Collaborate on sales and marketing initiatives to enhance the hotel's profile as a preferred events and destination venue
- Proactively manage guest and client feedback, ensuring continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with all local regulations, safety standards, and operational requirements
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity within the MICE and events space to maintain competitive advantage
ABOUT YOU
- Proven experience as a General Manager or Hotel Manager within a full-service hotel
- Demonstrated success driving MICE, events, and group business in a hotel or resort environment
- Strong commercial and financial acumen with the ability to grow multi-revenue streams
- A confident, visible, and people-focused leader who thrives in a hands-on environment
- Experience in the Philippines or South-East Asia market is highly regarded
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, particularly with corporate and events clients
- Familiarity with hotel systems such as Opera or similar PMS
- Hospitality or business qualifications are advantageous but not essential
