Job Description

  • Routine Maintenance and Inspections
  • Conduct Regular Inspections: Perform daily, weekly, or monthly inspections of hotel facilities, including guest rooms, common areas, kitchen, HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, and emergency equipment, ensuring everything is in good working order.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine checks and preventive maintenance tasks on hotel equipment such as air conditioning, lighting, plumbing, elevators, and kitchen appliances to avoid potential issues.
  • Repairs and Troubleshooting
  • Address Maintenance Requests: Respond to maintenance requests from guests and hotel staff. This could involve fixing broken lights, leaking faucets, faulty electrical outlets, or HVAC malfunctions.
  • Troubleshoot Issues: Diagnose and resolve problems quickly and efficiently, minimizing disruptions to hotel operations and guest experience.
  • Handle Emergencies: Be available to handle urgent repair needs, such as plumbing leaks, electrical outages, or equipment breakdowns, especially during non-office hours.
  • HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical Maintenance
  • HVAC Maintenance: Ensure the heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems are functioning optimally by performing regular filter changes, cleaning, and servicing of units.
  • Plumbing Maintenance: Repair and maintain plumbing systems, including sinks, toilets, showers, water heaters, and pipes. Address issues like leaks, clogs, or low water pressure.
  • Electrical Maintenance: Repair and maintain the electrical systems, including lights, outlets, switches, circuit breakers, and emergency systems like fire alarms and emergency lighting.
  • Guest Room Maintenance
  • Repair Guest Room Equipment: Fix or replace broken furniture, electrical appliances, plumbing fixtures, or lighting in guest rooms.
  • Ensure Room Readiness: Prepare rooms for new guests by making necessary repairs or upgrades before check-ins.
  • Maintain Room Standards: Ensure that guest rooms meet the hotels safety and aesthetic standards, including maintaining room temperature controls, TV equipment, and appliances.
  • Building and Grounds Maintenance
  • Outdoor Maintenance: Maintain hotel exterior features, such as landscaping, parking lots, walkways, pool areas, and outdoor lighting.
  • Painting and Carpentry: Perform minor carpentry or painting work as needed for repairs or maintenance of furniture, walls, doors, windows, and other hotel infrastructure.
  • Cleaning Maintenance Equipment: Clean and maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition for future tasks.
  • Safety and Compliance
  • Ensure Safety Compliance: Ensure that hotel facilities meet local safety standards and building codes. This includes fire safety systems, emergency exits, and safety equipment.
  • Safety Inspections: Regularly check safety equipment such as fire alarms, sprinklers, extinguishers, and emergency lights to ensure they are functioning correctly.
  • Hazardous Materials Handling: Properly handle hazardous materials such as cleaning chemicals or other substances in accordance with safety guidelines and regulations.

Vocational Or Technical Certification (Preferred But Not Always Required)

  • HVAC Certification: For roles that involve maintaining heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
  • Electrical Certification: For positions requiring electrical system repairs or maintenance.
  • Plumbing Certification: In case plumbing tasks are part of the responsibilities.
