Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional License: Must be a licensed Civil Engineer.
  • Work Experience: Preferably with 3 years of experience in highway or roadway projects. Must have a strong understanding of roadway design standards and transportation engineering principles.
  • Skills & Knowledge: Proficient in Civil 3D and Autodesk Infraworks.
  • Location Requirement: Must be willing to work full-time on-site at Apayao, Cordillera Admin Region.

Job Summary:

The Junior Highway Design Engineer supports the planning and design of highway and road infrastructure projects. The role involves assisting with geometric design, preparing drawings and reports, and working under the guidance of senior engineers to ensure designs meet technical standards, safety requirements, and project specifications.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Design Support and Plan Preparation:

  • Assist in the design and development of highway and road projects.
  • Prepare and update engineering drawings, calculations, and technical reports using design software and applicable standards.
  • Collaborate with the project team to review design information and ensure conflicts among all trades are resolved.

2. Engineering Calculations:

  • Analyze survey and design data using software tools to assist in preparing design layout, alignment, and reports.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to interpret data findings and apply them to design calculations and recommendations.

3. Site and Construction Support:

  • Maintain professional and cooperative working relationships with project team members, supervisors, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with contractors and project teams to resolve design-related queries or discrepancies on-site.
  • Assist in quality control checks to ensure that materials, workmanship, and construction practices meet design and safety standards.

4. Documentation and Reporting:

  • Support senior engineers and supervisors in managing client accounts by preparing design updates, reports, and technical documentation.
  • Communicate professionally with internal teams to support client needs and ensure accurate and timely project information.
  • Assist the project team in monitoring project schedules and deliverables to help maintain client satisfaction.
