Overview: As a Service Technician for Heavy Equipments, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the proper functioning, maintenance, and repair of heavy machinery. You will play a critical role in maximizing the uptime of these vehicles and equipment while adhering to safety standards and manufacturer guidelines. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and strong communication abilities to effectively liaise with clients and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Inspection and Diagnosis:
- Conduct thorough inspections of trucks and heavy equipment to identify any mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to pinpoint problems accurately.
- Assess the condition of components and systems to determine the extent of repairs needed.
Maintenance and Repairs:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication to ensure optimal performance and longevity of vehicles and machinery.
- Execute complex repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulic systems, and other critical components.
- Replace defective parts and components with genuine replacements according to manufacturer specifications.
Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving:
- Analyze malfunctions and breakdowns to determine root causes and develop effective solutions.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems to resolve issues efficiently.
- Implement preventive measures to reduce the likelihood of future breakdowns.
Technical Support and Training:
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to customers and colleagues regarding equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Conduct training sessions for operators and maintenance personnel on best practices for equipment usage and care.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities using digital or paper-based systems.
- Generate detailed reports on equipment status, repair histories, and service schedules.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to clients and management in a clear and concise manner.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance and repair tasks.
- Ensure compliance with environmental standards and regulations related to waste disposal and chemical handling.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and adherence among team members and clients.
Qualifications:
- Any certification in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in servicing trucks, heavy equipment, or similar vehicles in a technical capacity.
- Willing to be trained
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Willingness to travel to client sites for onsite repairs and maintenance as needed.
