HEAVY DIESEL MECHANIC

Bluemoon Offshore Solutions is hiring on behalf of a client seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic with a minimum of 8–10 years of hands-on experience. Candidates with 8-10 years and advanced expertise are strongly preferred and will be considered highly qualified for this role.

Successful applicants will relocate to Australia — visa sponsorship is provided. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical & hydraulic issues in heavy diesel equipment
• Perform repairs, servicing & preventative maintenance
• Inspect engines, transmissions, brakes & steering systems
• Conduct safety checks & ensure compliance with industry standards
• Use diagnostic tools and equipment effectively
• Maintain accurate service and repair records
• Minimise downtime by troubleshooting issues promptly
• Work collaboratively with workshop staff and management
• Ensure cleanliness and safety within the workshop area

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 8–10 years of experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics & electrical systems
• Experience with trucks, trailers, earthmoving or heavy equipment
• Ability to read & interpret technical manuals and schematics
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
• Valid driver's licence (HR/HC licence is an advantage)

HIGHLY QUALIFIED TIER

Candidates with 8- 10 years of hands-on heavy diesel experience are considered highly qualified. These applicants will receive priority consideration and are expected to demonstrate advanced expertise across diagnostics, leadership, and complex systems.

Advanced Diagnostics

Expert-level fault diagnosis across mechanical, electrical & hydraulic systems with minimal supervision

Fleet Leadership

Experience managing or mentoring workshop teams and overseeing multi-vehicle fleet maintenance programs

Complex Engine Overhauls

Full engine rebuilds, major overhauls, and component reconditioning on large diesel machinery

Compliance Mastery

Deep knowledge of Australian safety standards, WHS regulations, and heavy vehicle compliance requirements

Systems Documentation

Ability to create and maintain detailed maintenance schedules, service logs, and technical reports

Specialist Equipment

Proven experience with earthmoving, mining, or specialised offshore heavy equipment
