As a Healthcare Billing Associate, you are the vital link between medical providers, patients, and insurance companies. Your mission is to ensure that healthcare services are accurately coded, billed, and paid. You turn complex medical records into clean financial claims, ensuring the facility is compensated fairly and patients understand their financial responsibilities.
- Claims Preparation & Submission: Review medical notes and translate them into standardized codes (ICD-10, CPT) to submit clean electronic or paper claims to insurance carriers.
- Insurance Verification: Confirm patient insurance coverage, benefits, and pre-authorizations before or after a medical visit to prevent payment delays.
- Payment Posting: Accurately record payments from insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and patient co-pays into our medical billing software.
- Denial Management: Investigate rejected or denied claims. You'll perform detective work to find the error, fix it, and resubmit the claim for payment.
- Patient Financial Support: Act as a helpful guide for patients who have questions about their bills, helping them understand their deductibles or setting up payment plans.
- Compliance & Privacy: Strictly follow HIPAA regulations to ensure all patient health information (PHI) is handled with 100% confidentiality and security.
