Job Description

Job Summary

The Head of Treasury is responsible for overseeing the organization's treasury operations, ensuring optimal cash management, liquidity, funding, banking relationships, and financial risk management. The role provides strategic direction on cash flow, investments, financing, and treasury policies to support the company's financial objectives and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the company's treasury operations, including cash management, cash positioning, and liquidity planning.
  • Develop and monitor short- and long-term cash flow forecasts to ensure sufficient funds for operational and investment requirements.
  • Manage the company's banking relationships, including negotiations on bank facilities, credit lines, interest rates, and other banking arrangements.
  • Oversee funding and financing activities, including loans, credit facilities, debt management, and refinancing requirements.
  • Develop strategies for optimal utilization of excess cash, including approved short-term investments and placements.
  • Monitor interest rate, foreign exchange, liquidity, and other financial risks, and recommend appropriate mitigating strategies.
  • Establish and maintain treasury policies, controls, procedures, and approval frameworks in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate cash reconciliations, bank transactions, fund transfers, and treasury reports.
  • Monitor borrowing costs, debt maturities, covenant compliance, and overall financing exposure.
  • Partner with Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Legal, and other Finance teams to ensure effective cash and funding management.
  • Provide treasury insights and recommendations to senior management to support financial and investment decisions.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the treasury team, ensuring strong controls, accountability, and service delivery.
  • Identify opportunities to improve treasury processes, systems, automation, and cash efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations, banking requirements, tax considerations, and internal policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Preferably with 8–12+ years of relevant experience in Treasury, Corporate Finance, Banking, or Financial Management, with significant leadership experience.
  • Strong experience in cash management, cash flow forecasting, banking, debt/funding, and liquidity management.
  • Experience managing banking relationships and financing facilities.
  • Strong financial analysis, business acumen, and risk management skills.
  • Excellent understanding of financial markets, banking products, and treasury practices.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior management.
  • Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and commercially minded.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial management/ERP systems.
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, or CTP are an advantage.
