Job Description

The Head of Canada Retirement Operations is a senior leader accountable for the strategic direction, transformation agenda, and end‑to‑end service delivery of Canada Retirement Operations. This role requires strong executive presence and influence, with the ability to credibly challenge and partner with demanding business leaders while driving outcomes across a complex, global operating model.

Key Responsibilities

1) Executive Partnership & Domain Leadership

  • Act as a senior business partner to business leaders, shaping strategy and ensuring service delivery outcomes align with business priorities.
  • Represent Retirement Operations to firm leadership, BU heads, regulators, vendors, and external stakeholders with confidence and credibility.
  • Build deep domain expertise in Canada Retirement products, trade lifecycle, and operating models to influence decisions and manage risk.

2) Transformation, Change & Innovation

  • Own and execute the transformation agenda for Canada Retirement Operations, including operating model evolution, process redesign, and scalability initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement, encouraging teams to think beyond legacy constraints.

3) Service Delivery & Global Workforce Leadership

  • Lead a distributed, multi‑location workforce, ensuring consistent execution, performance transparency, and service excellence.
  • Drive alignment to a global shared services model that is efficient, scalable, and resilient.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 15+ years relevant experience in Retirement Operations, Wealth Management, Securities, or Financial Operations.
  • 10+ years leading large, complex teams across multiple geographies.
  • Proven track record of executive influence, stakeholder management, and operating effectively in a matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated transformation leadership—ability to design, sell, and deliver change.
  • Strong operational risk, governance, and controls background.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast‑paced environments with competing priorities.
