Job Summary
The Head of Research & Development (Pharmaceutical) is responsible for leading the overall R&D function, driving product innovation, formulation development, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role ensures that all research activities align with business goals, regulatory standards, and market needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all research and development activities, including product formulation and innovation
- Develop and execute R&D strategies aligned with business and commercial objectives
- Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical regulations, quality standards, and industry requirements
- Manage product development lifecycle from concept to commercialization
- Collaborate with regulatory, quality, production, and commercial teams for successful product launches
- Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activities
- Drive continuous improvement in formulations, processes, and product performance
- Manage R&D budget, timelines, and resource allocation
- Lead, mentor, and develop the R&D team
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field
- Extensive experience in pharmaceutical research and development
- Strong knowledge of formulation development, regulatory requirements, and quality standards
- Proven leadership experience in managing R&D teams
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and highly regulated environment
