Job Description

We are looking for a commercially minded and hands-on Head of Marketplace to take full ownership of our third-party marketplace channels and drive growth across the business.

This is a senior role, not a marketplace support or coordinator position. Candidates with primarily VA, product upload, or marketplace support-only experience will not be suitable for this role.

You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of marketplace performance across multiple brands and platforms - including catalogue operations, trading performance, promotions, revenue growth, and marketplace partner relationships.

The ideal candidate has experience owning marketplace results, making commercial and pricing decisions, managing large product catalogues, and working directly with marketplace account managers and buying teams.

Key Responsibilities

Product & Catalogue Management

• Own the product creation and onboarding process for each marketplace, ensuring listings are set up accurately and on time for seasonal launches and replenishment.

• Maintain and audit product data across all channels, including titles, descriptions, imagery, pricing, size guides, attributes and taxonomy mapping.

• Ensure brand consistency across all marketplace storefronts, working closely with the content and design teams.

• Manage SKU and variant setup, ensuring alignment between Shopify, warehouse systems and marketplace feeds.

Trading & Commercial Performance

• Take full commercial ownership of marketplace revenue and margin targets across all channels.

• Monitor daily, weekly and monthly performance including sell-through, conversion, returns, average order value and contribution margin.

• Identify trading opportunities and risks, making proactive recommendations on pricing, promotions and range.

• Produce regular trading reports and marketplace performance reviews for leadership.

Marketing & Promotions

• Plan and execute marketplace-specific promotional campaigns, including seasonal sales events, platform-led activity and brand-funded campaigns.

• Collaborate with marketplace advertising and sponsored product programmes to maximise visibility and return on ad spend.

• Work with the marketing team to align marketplace activity with the broader brand calendar and DTC campaigns.

• Brief and supply creative assets required by each marketplace partner.

Partner & Relationship Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for all marketplace partners, building strong working relationships with account managers and buying teams.

• Attend regular trading reviews and business planning meetings with each platform.

• Negotiate commercial terms, commission structures and promotional placement.

• Stay informed on each platform's roadmap, algorithm changes and best practices.

Operations & Fulfilment Coordination

• Liaise with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure inventory availability, order processing and fulfilment SLAs are met.

• Manage returns processes and ensure compliance with each marketplace's operational standards and seller scorecards.

• Troubleshoot order, listing or data issues and escalate platform-related problems as needed.

About You

Essential Experience & Skills

• 3+ years of experience managing online marketplace channels for a fashion, lifestyle or consumer brand.

• Hands-on experience managing marketplace performance, catalogue operations, and trading activities across online marketplaces.

• Experience owning marketplace revenue growth and commercial outcomes preferred.

• Strong understanding of marketplace product feeds, data requirements and content optimisation.

• Commercially minded with experience owning P&L or revenue targets at a channel level.

• Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets with strong analytical skills and comfort working with sales data.

• Excellent attention to detail, particularly around product data accuracy and pricing.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to manage multiple external partner relationships simultaneously.

• Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-brand environment with competing priorities.

Desirable

• Experience working within Shopify or similar e-commerce platforms.

• Familiarity with marketplace integration tools or middleware.

• Experience with marketplace advertising and sponsored product campaigns.

• Understanding of fashion seasonality, buying cycles and wholesale/marketplace commercial models.

• Experience working across multiple geographies (UK and Australia preferred).
