We are looking for an immediate, full-time, permanent position in APAC at Makati City, Philippines.

Job Purpose:

Your tasks:

Is responsible for the overall management of the legal function of the country. Establishes legal processes and procedures to assure business objectives are met and legal risks are identified and mitigated. Supports development of business strategy in area of responsibility through active participation in managmenet and related meetings and projects as appropriate including contract drafting and negotiations.

Your profile:

• Senior level legal representative in area of responsibility accountable to senior management for all business units under area of responsibility and responsible for advising and managing legal and related risks associated with DHL's business.
• Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making for the country to develop and implement a legal strategy that aligns with the organisation and region's vision and business objectives.
• Evaluate activities, policies, practices, and transactions in the country to ensure they comply with all relevant laws and regulations.
• Advises management team on legal trends and developing areas of law.
• Accountable to management team for all legal matters in area of responsibility.
• Manages a team of professionals and support staff to provide a comprehensive 'one stop shop for legal services to one or more DHL business units in area of responsibility.
• Ensures all business units of DHL under remit comply with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
• Implements global and regional legal strategies in area of responsibility in alignment with business objectives.
• Responsible for providing training and knowledge tools to educate legal team and members of the business on key legal issues, trends and developments in the law.
• Establishes best in class legal strategies and procedures to assure business objectives are met and legal risks are identified and mitigated.
• Responsible for assuring commercial contracts incorporate and reflect business objectives and terms designed to minimize risk and maximize opportunities for commercial gain and customer service opportunities .
• Responsible for defending the organization's legal interests in litigation and claims in area of responsibility which may include external legal spend in sub-region with highest level responsibility for same.
• Works closely with internal and external auditors and regulatory authorities on legal issues involving area of responsibility.

Customers & Stakeholders

• Responsible for assuring organization's legal interests are best represented and protected in customer, vendor and third party contracts active participant in negotiating such contracts.
• Represents and defends the organization's interests in litigation and other adversarial legal proceedings.

Your profile:

Education and Experience Level:

• University law degree or P rofessional law qualifications
• Strong manager with ability to apply legal knowledge and expertise into business environment
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong budgeting and cost control skills
• 8 years of legal practice either within commercial law firm or in house legal department excellent written and verbal communication skills
