Role Overview
The Head of IT Applications is responsible for managing enterprise applications, business systems, and digital platforms across the organization. This role leads application strategy, delivery, support, and optimization initiatives while ensuring systems remain reliable, secure, and aligned with business goals.
Responsibilities
APPLICATIONS MANAGEMENT
- Oversee the full lifecycle management of enterprise applications
- Ensure application stability, scalability, and performance optimization
- Lead application upgrades, enhancements, and modernization initiatives
- Ensure proper documentation, knowledge management, and support processes
- Manage incident resolution, root cause analysis, and change management activities
SOLUTIONS DELIVERY
- Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-grade business solutions
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and prioritize initiatives
- Ensure technical solutions comply with enterprise architecture standards
- Evaluate SaaS, cloud, and custom-built solutions to support business operations
- Drive continuous improvement and automation initiatives across applications
GOVERNANCE & COMPLIANCE
- Ensure systems comply with security, audit, and regulatory standards
- Implement application governance policies and best practices
- Monitor application risks, vulnerabilities, and remediation activities
TEAM & VENDOR MANAGEMENT
- Lead internal application teams and third-party support providers
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, SLAs, and project deliverables
- Develop team capabilities through coaching and technical leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in enterprise applications or software delivery
- Experience managing ERP, CRM, or enterprise business systems
- Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and cloud technologies
- Experience leading technical teams and vendor partnerships
