Head of Information Technology (IT) & Digital Transformation
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Information Technology (IT) & Digital Transformation to lead the organisation's technology function and drive digitalisation initiatives across the business. This role will be responsible for developing and executing technology strategies that enhance operational efficiency, strengthen business capabilities, and support sustainable growth.
The successful candidate will oversee enterprise applications, IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, data governance, cloud technologies, and digital transformation initiatives while working closely with senior leadership to align technology investments with organisational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic IT Leadership
- Develop and implement IT strategies, roadmaps, and governance frameworks aligned with business objectives.
- Partner with senior management and business stakeholders to identify opportunities for digitalisation, automation, and process improvement.
- Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies to enhance business performance and operational effectiveness.
- Lead technology modernisation initiatives, including cloud adoption and infrastructure transformation.
Digital Transformation & Innovation
- Drive digitalisation initiatives that improve business processes, customer experience, productivity, and operational efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to leverage automation, data analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and other emerging technologies to support business growth.
- Champion innovation and technology adoption across the organisation.
- Lead change management efforts to ensure successful implementation of new technologies and processes.
Data & Analytics
- Establish and maintain data governance frameworks to ensure data accuracy, integrity, security, and accessibility.
- Drive the development of business intelligence and reporting capabilities to support data-driven decision-making.
- Oversee data architecture, data management, and analytics initiatives.
- Promote the effective use of data across the organisation to improve business outcomes.
Enterprise Applications Management
- Oversee the implementation, enhancement, maintenance, and optimisation of enterprise business applications, including ERP, CRM, and related systems.
- Ensure business applications effectively support operational requirements and organisational objectives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritise system enhancements and process improvements.
IT Operations & Infrastructure
- Ensure the stability, availability, performance, and security of all IT systems and services.
- Manage IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, cloud environments, end-user computing, and related technologies.
- Establish best practices for system monitoring, incident management, business continuity, and disaster recovery.
- Ensure technology platforms are scalable, resilient, and aligned with business needs.
Cybersecurity & Risk Management
- Develop and maintain cybersecurity strategies, policies, and controls to safeguard organisational assets and information.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, security, and data protection requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures to address technology and cybersecurity risks.
- Promote cybersecurity awareness and best practices across the organisation.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing IT team.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Support the professional development and capability building of team members.
Project, Vendor & Budget Management
- Lead technology projects and programmes from planning through implementation and post-deployment support.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, resources, and stakeholder expectations.
- Develop and manage the annual IT budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
- Manage relationships with external vendors, service providers, and technology partners, ensuring service quality and value delivery.
Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary liaison between IT and business stakeholders.
- Provide strategic technology advice and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Communicate technology plans, project updates, risks, and opportunities effectively to stakeholders.
Other Duties
- Participate in meetings, training programmes, and organisational initiatives as required.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management.
Requirements
Essential Requirements
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 8 years of experience in IT leadership, managing technology operations, infrastructure, enterprise applications, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Proven track record in leading digitalisation programmes and technology-enabled business transformation projects that improve operational efficiency and business performance.
- Experience managing and developing IT teams.
- Strong understanding of ERP, CRM, enterprise applications, and business systems.
- Experience managing cloud technologies, IT infrastructure, and technology modernisation initiatives.
- Knowledge of data governance, data management, business intelligence, and information security practices.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity, risk management, business continuity, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience managing vendors, contracts, and external service providers.
- Proven ability to lead complex technology projects and manage cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to align technology initiatives with organisational objectives.
- Excellent communication, presentation, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience leading initiatives involving automation, artificial intelligence (AI), advanced analytics, machine learning, or emerging technologies.
- Knowledge of data warehousing, data lakes, reporting platforms, and business intelligence solutions.
- Familiarity with cloud-based analytics and data-driven decision-making frameworks.
- Experience supporting organisations undergoing significant digital transformation, process optimisation, or system modernisation programmes.
- Experience within commercial sectors such as distribution, logistics, supply chain, trading, manufacturing, healthcare, life sciences, or e-commerce.
- Relevant certifications in cloud technologies, cybersecurity, project management, enterprise architecture, or related disciplines will be advantageous.
