Job Description

The Head of Information Technology is responsible for providing strategic leadership, governance, and operational oversight of all information technology functions across the Alternergy Group. This role ensures that IT strategy, systems, cybersecurity, and services are aligned with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices, while supporting the Group's growth, innovation, and operational resilience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define and execute the Group's IT strategy and roadmap aligned with enterprise objectives.
  • Establish and maintain robust IT governance, policies, standards, and performance metrics.
  • Oversee day-to-day IT operations to ensure reliable, secure, and cost-effective services across the Group.
  • Lead IT financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization.
  • Ensure effective IT risk management aligned with the enterprise risk management framework.
  • Oversee cybersecurity and IT/OT security governance, including incident prevention, detection, response, and recovery.
  • Serve as executive lead for major IT and cybersecurity incidents and post-incident reviews.
  • Drive application, infrastructure, and cloud strategy, including M365 and enterprise platform management.
  • Enable business transformation through systems integration, automation, and process optimization.
  • Oversee system development, enhancement, and lifecycle management using defined SDLC standards.
  • Establish and manage strategic partnerships with technology vendors and service providers.
  • Provide regular reporting to executive management on IT performance, risks, initiatives, and investments.
  • Build, lead, and retain a high-performing IT organization with a culture of accountability, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Promote organizational awareness and responsible use of emerging technologies, including AI.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.

Experience

  • 10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, including enterprise IT operations and governance.
  • Proven experience defining and executing IT strategy in a multi-business or group environment.
  • Hands-on leadership experience with cloud platforms, enterprise applications, infrastructure, and M365.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of IT governance frameworks, cybersecurity, IT/OT environments, and risk management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large, diverse technology teams and manage change effectively.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills at executive level.
