HEPMIL Philippines is looking for a seasoned and hands-on finance leader to head our Finance function in the Philippines. This person will oversee the full spectrum of financial operations locally and serve as a key liaison between the country team and regional HQ in Singapore. The ideal candidate is a proactive and detail-oriented leader with a deep understanding of Philippine financial, tax, and regulatory frameworks, coupled with strong business acumen and stakeholder management capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Leadership & Strategy
- Lead the overall Finance function for the Philippine entity, aligning local financial strategies with regional business objectives.
- Partner closely with the General Manager (PH) and Group Financial Controller (SG) to drive financial performance, cost efficiency, and business growth.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
2. Financial Operations & Reporting
- Oversee timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of books and reporting.
- Ensure proper management of the full set of accounts, including AP, AR, payroll, and intercompany transactions.
- Manage financial planning processes including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning.
- Monitor and manage working capital and treasury matters.
3. Tax, Compliance & Audit
- Ensure full compliance with BIR, SEC, and other statutory bodies tax and reporting requirements (e.g. CIT, VAT, Withholding Taxes, SSS, PhilHealth, PAG-IBIG).
- Lead the preparation and filing of tax returns and financial statements.
- Manage annual statutory audits and liaise with external auditors to ensure timely and clean audit closures.
- Liaise with corporate secretarial, legal counsel, and tax agents to ensure regulatory compliance and mitigate financial risks.
4. Internal Controls & Policy Implementation
- Develop, document, and maintain robust internal controls, accounting policies, and operational procedures.
- Uphold financial governance and ensure consistent application of group-wide policies.
- Support the rollout of new financial systems, tools, and processes as needed.
5. Team & Stakeholder Management
- Provide leadership, training, and development to finance team members.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with business, operations, and HR teams locally.
- Act as the key finance contact for regional HQ and ensure alignment on reporting standards and operational matters.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy or Finance; CPA or equivalent certification required.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or head of finance role.
- Strong understanding of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS), local tax laws, and compliance requirements.
- Experience in digital media, content, or advertising industries is a plus.
- Familiarity with cloud-based accounting systems such as Xero is preferred.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills.
