Job Purpose
The Head of Finance is accountable for developing comprehensive financial strategies, managing finance operations, ensuring financial compliance, and overseeing personnel management. He/she is tasked with aligning policies and practices with regional regulations, collaborating closely with the Founders and/or Country Manager as the market evolves, managing and supervising country P&L performance, and working with local teams to attain business objectives and financial goals.
Reporting directly to the Founders, the Head of Finance works in close collaboration with the Senior Leadership team to ensure the strategic realization of short-term and long-term business goals.
Main Duties
Financial Strategy Formulation and Implementation
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's goals and market conditions.
- Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization.
- Assess and manage financial risks and opportunities.
Financial Operations Management
- Oversee financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, providing insights to improve efficiency and profitability.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with local and regional financial regulations and standards.
- Develop and implement internal controls to mitigate financial and operational risks.
- Manage relationships with external auditors and regulatory authorities.
Cash Management and Treasury Operations
- Managing liquidity to ensure the organization meets its financial obligations as they become due.
- Implementing cash flow improvement initiatives to optimize working capital.
- Overseeing banking relationships and transactions to optimize cash management processes.
People Management and Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and teamwork.
- Provide guidance and support to local teams on financial matters to achieve business goals.
- Collaborate effectively with other departments to ensure financial goals are aligned with overall business objectives.
P&L Performance Management
- Manage and oversee the country P&L performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Work with local teams to develop and achieve financial targets and business objectives.
- Collaborate with the Founders on strategic financial decisions and market development initiatives.
