The role would be responsible for leading the investment strategy, portfolio construction, and active management of a sizable portfolio. The role combines deep local market expertise, by delivering superior risk-adjusted returns. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in fundamental equity investing, deep knowledge of sectors and macro drivers, and confidence in engaging with institutional and retail investors.
The role also carries a strong entrepreneurial mandate: to help grow and shape the Philippine equities franchise, deepen stakeholder relationships, and contribute to the broader development of the firm's Asia equity capabilities.
Position Responsibilities:
Portfolio Management and Research
- Manage portfolios strictly to the portfolio objectives, risk parameters and comfortable working in a team-based environment.
- Conduct bottomup fundamental research complemented by topdown macro insights to identify attractive investment opportunities across sectors.
- Monitor market, regulatory, geopolitical, and economic developments affecting the equity markets.
- Identify secular trends, competitive advantages, and catalysts for long-term alpha generation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders like distribution, product, and client-facing teams to support new mandates, product development, and client engagement where relevant.
- Present clearly and credibly to investment committees, senior management, boards, and regulators as needed.
- Engage with company management teams, industry experts, and sell-side analysts to gather insights.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across regions/globally to share ideas and coordinate strategies.
Entrepreneurial and Team Leadership
- Represent the equity team in client meetings, presentations, and portfolio reviews for institutional and retail clients.
- Clearly articulate investment philosophy, portfolio positioning, and performance drivers.
- Respond to client inquiries and provide prompt market updates and insights, when needed.
- Function as a visible and credible ambassador for the firm in the local investment community.
- Lead and motivate team members to build a high-performance investment culture grounded in accountability, intellectual curiosity, and collaboration.
- Ensure team's adherence to governance standards, compliance requirements, and fiduciary responsibilities.
Collaboration and Engagement
- Collaborate with stakeholders like distribution, product, and client-facing teams to support new mandates, product development, and client engagement where relevant.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field.
- Min 10 years of industry experience with either buy/sell side, with deep expertise in Philippines equities.
- Proven track record of managing equity portfolios with strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills.
