Head of Design

Job description:

The Head of Design is the overall in-charge of the design plan, and is responsible for monitoring all aspects of the design works and ensures that the required tasks are completed on time and within the approved budget in accordance to the standard expectations of the Company. This position also manages the schedule and quality of design works and properly delegates tasks to ensure that each of the assigned project design is completed as planned.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Over-all in-charge of the project design and leads in the creation of project layout referenced from requirements gathered from the client

● Reviews the Project plan to ensure it is thorough, technically-sound, evidence-based, and aligned with the business objective of the Company

● Manages and mentors the Design team members to ensure Project progress and development is attained

● Leads in the production of working drawings for the entire project life cycle

● Heads the team in close collaboration with Quality Surveying and Purchasing Departments by providing complete material information required to achieve the approved design of the client

● Ensures that the Project is properly designed, completed on time, and carried out within the budget

● Reviews and analyzes Design Progress Reports for project development tracking

● Provides the Management with weekly design reports/updates for project alignment

● Reviews Design schedule and proposes recommendations to deliver projects within approved quality and within deadline

● Coordinates and addresses design issues and concerns with relevant parties

● Performs other business-related functions and tasks as assigned or required from time to time

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, or any related field

Preferably a licensed Architect

Minimum of 7 years of experience in project designing, 3 years in leadership role

Preferably with background in fit-out design, real estate, or construction industry
