About the Role
As Director, Data Asset Management – Data Acquisition Focus, you will provide strategic direction across data acquisition and data management initiatives.
You'll work at both the strategic and technical level—helping shape data strategies, strengthen data partnerships, manage complex data environments, and ensure that data capabilities support measurable business outcomes.
This role is particularly suited to professionals with consulting/consultancy experience who can bring strategic thinking and client-facing partnership capabilities to the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic initiatives across data management, data acquisition, and data strategy.
- Develop and strengthen data partnerships and strategic relationships with clients.
- Provide strategic direction for complex data environments and data-related initiatives.
- Guide data sourcing and ingestion pipeline strategies.
- Establish and strengthen data quality and governance practices.
- Apply strong understanding of database structures and software development environments.
- Embed compliance by design through upfront validation, controls, and continuous monitoring.
- Translate data capabilities into measurable commercial outcomes.
- Provide strategic direction and mentor associates across both managerial and technical levels.
- Facilitate discussions and negotiations with relevant stakeholders and partners.
- Manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong organization, attention to detail, and delivery against deadlines.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree/diploma in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- CDMP Certified.
- At least 8 years of experience in data management, data strategy, or analytics.
- At least 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role.
- Experience in credit reporting or the financial services industry.
- Strong experience/understanding of:
- Data sourcing
- Data ingestion pipelines
- Data quality frameworks
- Software development
- Database structures
- Data governance best practices
- Experience working with regulatory and compliance frameworks.
- Experience working in a consultancy/consulting firm, particularly in strategic work.
- Ability to provide strategic direction, coach, and mentor professionals across managerial and technical levels.
- Ability to work independently and proactively while applying business acumen to data-related commercial outcomes.
Good-to-Have
- 10+ years of overall experience in data management, data strategy, or analytics.
- Experience within FinTech, Technology, or Credit Bureau environments.
- Strong background in data partnerships and client-facing strategy.
- Experience combining data science with broader data strategy initiatives.
- Experience building or positioning data assets/solutions to be attractive to clients.
