H/W + S/W Quality Assurance Engineer

About the role

This role involves developing, executing, and maintaining comprehensive test strategies for IoT devices, gateways, firmware, dashboard app and backend, including functional, regression, performance, and integration testing. You will collaborate with firmware engineers and development teams to identify, analyze, and resolve firmware issues, conduct field testing and compliance verification, and ensure usability, durability, and adherence to industry standards. The position includes testing vital signs data from medical bands through a Bluetooth gateway

Key responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and maintain test strategies, including functional, regression, performance, and integration testing for IoT devices, gateways, and firmware, app + backend
• Collaborate with firmware engineers and development teams to identify, analyze, and resolve firmware issues
• Conduct field testing and compliance verification to ensure usability, durability, and adherence to industry standards for IoT devices
• Develop and maintain test documentation, including test reports, defect logs, and automation scripts
• Design, implement, and execute automated test scripts using Python to enhance testing efficiency, data validation, and coverage
• Test vital signs data from medical bands through a Bluetooth gateway
• Create and maintain comprehensive regression testing plans
• Demonstrate proficiency in testing RESTful APIs
• Participate in team discussions and project meetings, providing insights on issues and presenting solutions
• Ability and experience to do agentic AI workflow

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or Information Technology
• 3+ years of experience in software testing (Web, Android, or iOS), including embedded systems and IoT devices
• Hands-on experience in testing IoT devices, gateways, and firmware
• Proficiency in manual and automated testing methodologies
• Experience with test automation frameworks and ability to do CI/CD setup and maintenance
• Strong knowledge of embedded systems, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and other connectivity protocols
• Familiarity with hardware debugging tools, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers
• Ability to analyze logs and troubleshoot firmware issues using tools like ADB, UART, and JTAG
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently
