Job Purpose

To complete the daily processing of all Seafreight shipments and dispatch of freight, documentation, and any other related requirements.

To help in increasing productivity of the National Seafreight Import Desk of Australia.

To ensure high compliance is maintained in line with Australian Customs Guidelines.

To ensure the overall accuracy of the entries being processed, which includes but is not limited to:

  • Sea Cargo Automation reporting and import shipment declaration to the Australian Customs Authority
  • Shipping Line and Co-Loader's documentation archiving to the KN System
  • To ensure that the service expectations of customers are delivered with minimum to zero escalation and the behavioral expectations of the company are met and observed at all times.

Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the Sea Cargo Automation reporting, completeness, and accuracy, and the timely declaration of the import cargo being carried on board a vessel arriving in Australia from a place outside of Australia to the Australian Customs Authority.
  • Validates and guarantees crucial and critical fields are correctly populated in reference to the available shipping documents and other information found in various shipping lines and other carrier websites.
  • Cross-checks the gateway site of the Department of Immigration and Border Force Protection website (ICS) to match the KN Sea Cargo Report lodgment against the carrier's.
  • Monitors and reviews SALOG BPA tasks and coordinates with the Manage Service team on the timely creation and triggering of the SALOG tasks to enable the Sea Cargo and other downstream processes.
  • Initiate calls and meetings with the shipping line and other parties involved to speed up the declaration and reporting of the Sea Cargo.
  • Ensures Sea Cargo Automation reporting is triggered in no less than 48 hours before the first port of arrival to Australia.
  • Monitors all SCA rejections generated via an email notification and immediately fixes or provides the necessary and/or additional shipping documents that will be required by the Australian Customs Authority.
  • Coordinates with the relevant shipping lines with regards to the cargo underbond and other SCA withdrawal-related impediments and processes B1000 form to speed up clearing of the Sea Cargo lodgment.
  • Regularly updates sailing schedules and routing to match with 1-STOP information and other relevant routing schedule sources.
  • Provide support to the external brokers by sending Arrival Notice or Broker Advise documents in a timely manner for them to be able to perform the necessary actions in releasing the shipment cargo from their end.
  • Conducts a thorough investigation and troubleshooting on any Sea Cargo-related issues raised via RT queue and e-mail until the shipment lodgment status is cleared.
  • Conducts root cause analysis on recurring SCA issues through regular reviews and brainstorming with all parties involved, especially the local office and customs broker, and decides and implements long-term solutions and fixes to the issue.
  • Actively collaborates on a day-to-day basis with the local AU counterparts and other departments through calls or meetings to deliver a high level of services and support.
  • Seeks for continuous improvement over task and maintains the latest working instructions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation, Business, IT, Engineering, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Sea Logistics, Finance, IT, or a similar environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Good understanding of international geography and global trade flows.
  • Strong analytical and process improvement skills.
  • Organized and able to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrates initiative, accountability, and leadership potential.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Willing to work on Philippine public holidays as required.
