The GPM for Core Services manages the product managers responsible for our foundational platform capabilities: trading, custody, wallet, identity, and internal tooling. While individual product managers within your group focus on feature-level roadmaps and day-to-day execution, your mandate is to define the overarching vision and long-term strategic direction. You will bridge the gap between complex engineering realities and product-market needs, ensuring that our core infrastructure is not just functional, but scalable, resilient, and ready to support the next wave of financial innovation.
Role and Responsibility Vision & Strategy
• Understands how each of the core services actually works, not just at a roadmap level, well enough to contribute meaningfully to how they're designed and to catch early when a choice made for one service will cause problems.
• Coordinate with B2C and B2B product managers and commercial stakeholders and determine how the Core services can support these requirements
• Sets the direction for where Core needs to go, which services need to migrate, which need to scale, and why, based on what the business will need.
• Advocates for reusability over one-off builds. You will ensure that capabilities are designed to solve for the broader platform rather than single-product needs.
• Collaborates with Engineering leadership on critical infrastructure (ledger, settlement, identity) and manages trade-offs when prioritizing this work against product feature roadmaps.
Leadership & People Management
• Directly manages core PMs. You are responsible for goal setting, 1-on-1s, performance management, and scaling the team through hiring.
• Drives headcount planning and the organizational evolution of the Core Services group in collaboration with the Head of Product.
• Raises the bar on product craft across the group, from PRD quality to how well the team handles compliance and risk conversations. Reliability, Risk & Compliance
• Ensures robust observability (metrics, dashboards, alerting) is built into every capability. You will translate data-driven insights into actionable product decisions.
• Sets the standard for security and reliability alongside Engineering. Owns post-incident processes and postmortems for the group.
• Holds PMs accountable for compliance and risk posture, ensuring non-functional requirements (security, privacy, auditability) are prioritized in all specs and playbooks.
Required Qualification
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years in product management, with real ownership of a product line in fintech, crypto/trading, or another regulated space.
• Knowledge of Product Management techniques, such as Problem Discovery, Road Mapping, User Story writing, Prioritizing, and Data Analysis and Funnel Optimization.
• Has managed product managers before, not just individual contributors, and can hire and coach a team.
• Has set the direction for a platform or shared-services roadmap
• Strong understanding of business models, unit economics, and revenue streams, especially within fintech/crypto or trading products.
• Leadership and People Management Skills.
• Confident in verbal and written communication; able to present complex ideas in a clear and structured way.
• Shows empathy for user problems and can balance user needs with business and regulatory constraints.
• Experienced in Agile Development Process and familiar with Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
• Familiarity with Cryptocurrency, Web3, and TradFi ecosystems and trends; keeps up-to-date with market developments and regulatory changes.
