Your Role

As a Graphic Designer, you will:

• Design advertisements, commercial layouts, and editorial pages using Adobe InDesign and web-based graphic resources.
• Layout publication pages by strategically placing advertisements, editorial stories, and photos across various departments (Advert, Editorial, Classified, Flat Plan).
• Prepare digital ePaper and eMag documents for internet site upload while ensuring seamless online publishing.
• Manage production workflows and copy allocation through internal workflow systems (Star Production System and SCMS).
• Send finalized pages to press while upholding strict pre-press quality standards and obtaining client approvals on ad designs.
  
  

What You Need

Non-negotiables

• Proven experience as a Graphic Designer, Layout Artist, or Pre-Press Operator in print and digital publishing.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe InDesign and print production/layout design tools.
• Strong understanding of pre-press processes, page layout principles, and prepress quality assurance before going to print.
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage layout assets, text copy, images, and client ad approvals.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to work across multiple departments and tight press deadlines.
  
  

Preferred Skills/expertise

• Hands-on experience working with proprietary editorial or production workflow management systems (e.g., SCMS, Star Production System).
• Experience creating, formatting, and uploading ePaper, eMag, or digital publication files.
• Versatility in handling commercial print projects, including books, brochures, magazines, and classified layouts.
• Strong communication skills for liaising with creative managers, supervisors, and clients.
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to company-specific production flows and print manufacturing processes.
