Overview
Our client is looking for a Government Tender Submission Specialist - Engineering (Vehicle Fit-Out) to lead the hands-on writing, assembly, compliance tracking, and submission of tenders for Australian federal, state, and local government contracts. In this role, you will take charge of bids across fleet, emergency services, defence, and commercial vehicle modification sectors. You will translate complex mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering concepts into clear, compliant, and winning response schedules.

- Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM (to be confirmed by client)
Responsibilities
- Technical Content Writing & Translation: Interface with mechanical engineers, auto-electricians, and workshop managers to translate complex vehicle specs, CAD designs, build schedules, and compliance standards (e.g., ADRs, VSBs, heavy vehicle standards) into high-scoring tender narrative.
- Compliance Matrix & Specification Audit: Build rigorous compliance matrices against Request for Tender (RFT) technical spec sheets to ensure every vehicle requirement, safety feature, and engineering standard is accounted for.
- Portal & Submission Management: Own the technical submission process across key Australian portals (AusTender, NSW Buy, Procurement Central, Tenders VIC, QTenders), ensuring flawless, on-time uploads.
- Document Assembly & Design: Format and assemble technical responses, incorporating vehicle schematics, engineering drawings, Bill of Materials (BOM) summaries, and quality assurance workflows into clean, branded bid packages.
- Government Policy Schedules: Draft and gather supporting documentation for mandatory government criteria, including Local Industry Capability (LICC/GIPP), Indigenous Procurement Policy (IPP), WHS, and ISO certifications.
- Engineering Content Library: Maintain and organize boilerplate content, case studies, vehicle delivery timelines, technical spec sheets, and staff trade/engineering qualifications.
Requirements
- Experience: 2+ years writing tenders/bids within engineering, heavy manufacturing, automotive modification, or complex vehicle fit-out sectors (e.g., emergency services, defence, utility, or specialized commercial fleets).
- Technical Literacy: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, vehicle specifications, Australian Design Rules (ADRs), and Vehicle Standards Bulletins (VSBs).
- Skills: Excellent technical writing, proofreading, document layout (Advanced MS Word, InDesign/Adobe Suite), and cross-functional coordination with technical workshop teams.
- Portal Proficiency: Demonstrated experience navigating Australian Federal, State, and Local procurement platforms.
