What Role You Will Play in Our Team

At Walnut Education, we are committed to meeting schools&apos educational technology needs while advancing digital literacy for students in Malaysia. As the Government Affairs Lead Education, you will drive Walnuts engagement with government entities, fostering a regulatory environment that supports our growth objectives locally, especially with the Ministry of Education.

In this role, you will develop strategic engagement plans, monitor policy and regulatory changes, and advocate for Walnuts interests with internal and external stakeholders. You will establish strong relationships with key decision-makers, provide expert guidance on regulatory considerations impacting our products and services, and recommend actions to influence relevant government stakeholders effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Leverage networks to support business goals, offering strategic partnering advice.
• Monitor and analyse education policy changes, identifying opportunities and challenges.
• Develop advocacy strategies to align with business objectives.
• Represent Walnut in government interactions, fostering partnerships and advancing initiatives.
• Provide leadership with insights on political and regulatory trends to inform strategic decisions.

Key Requirements

• At least 5+ years of proven expertise in local government affairs, with a track record of building and maintaining strong partnerships, plus an understanding of government protocols and local cultures.
• Deep understanding of local political landscape, and policymaking processes.
• Experience with the Ministry of Education or Related Sectors Preferred
• Success in developing and executing government-related strategies that align with Walnuts objectives and deliver measurable results.
• A self-starter with strong ownership, accountability, and the ability to foster collaboration and team success.
• Excellent problem-solving, judgment, and communication skills to represent Walnuts interests persuasively in dynamic environments.
