Job Description
Cloud Foundations product is a set of global, secured and well governed Cloud services. The product offers standards, best practices, and well architected Cloud services focused on the development of new and current IaaS and Serverless Computing. The product is developed based on agile methodologies to support digital products and use cases.
What will you do
- Developing and implementing Boehringer standard solutions using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/GCP Deployment Manager) at an organizational level such as network, patching, backup, policies, and access
- Managing existing Infrastructure as Code modules and upgrading or migrating legacy configurations
- Responding to cloud environment issues and monitoring alerts (e.g. portal access, security findings, quota limits, etc.)
- Assisting users with access-related issues and requests using GCP IAM tools to ensure adherence to security best practices including MFA, service accounts, and key management
- Ensuring the overall health of all Cloud environments with regards to patching, anti-virus, backups, and performance thresholds
- Assisting users with Day 2 troubleshooting issues across GCP environments
- Ensuring ongoing configuration management health and compliance with organizational policies
- Migrating to new releases of Terraform, Bitbucket, or equivalent toolsets
- Creating and maintaining Runbooks and other support documentation
- Adhering to ITIL processes (change, problem, configuration, incident management)
- Applying Agile methodology and the Scrum framework while working closely with the product development team and the product owner.

What do you need to succeed
- Bachelor's degree in information technology or equivalent experience
- Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) cloud-based hands-on experience in Google Cloud Platform
- Strong working experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), especially with Terraform and GCP Deployment Manager
- Solid knowledge and understanding of the software development lifecycle utilizing the DevOps framework around CI/CD
- Very good understanding and experience in networking and security concepts such as routing, firewall, VPN, TCP/IP, VPC, firewall rules, Cloud NAT, anti-virus, and security risk remediation
Mandatory Skills:
- Proven hands-on working experience with GCP core services
- Experience supporting production cloud workloads using GCP native tools and 3rd party integrations
- Strong interpersonal skills, especially when supporting a diverse and global user base
- Good knowledge of CI/CD tools, processes, and procedures (e.g. Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Cloud Build)
- Good knowledge of code and binary repositories (e.g. GitHub or Bitbucket)
- Strong knowledge of Terraform or equivalent provisioning and automation tooling for building, changing, and versioning infrastructure
- Some knowledge of automation and configuration management toolsets (e.g. Ansible)
- Hands-on scripting experience in Bash, Python, Go, or PowerShell
- Hands-on experience and strong working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code concepts
- Strong command of the English language (both verbal and written)
