Global Inventory Control & Optimization Lead
Location: Can be Malaysia, Philippines or Singapore
Reporting to: Global Head of Supply Chain
Scope: Global role supporting all IMI sites across Asia, Europe, and Mexico
Travel: International travel as required
At IMI, we're looking for a hands-on inventory leader who knows how to turn data into action, improve inventory performance, and drive meaningful change across a global manufacturing network.
This role is ideal for someone who combines strong inventory management expertise with the ability to influence teams, simplify processes, and lead improvement initiatives across multiple sites and functions.
What You'll Do:
Global Inventory Monitoring & Control
- Monitor and analyze inventory performance across IMI's global operations in Asia, Europe, and Mexico.
- Drive the right balance between inventory investment, customer service, and operational efficiency.
- Track and improve key inventory metrics including:
- Inventory turns
- Aged inventory
- Excess and obsolete (E&O) inventory
- Inventory accuracy
- Lead cross-functional actions with Supply Chain, Planning, Purchasing, Operations, Sales, and Finance to address inventory challenges and opportunities.
Inventory Optimization & Reduction Programs
- Develop and execute global inventory optimization strategies.
- Lead inventory reduction initiatives that deliver measurable improvements in working capital and operational performance.
- Identify root causes of inventory build-up and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Drive excess and obsolete inventory disposition and recovery programs.
Inventory Accuracy & Warehouse Process Improvement
- Improve inventory accuracy across all sites through robust controls, cycle counting, and physical inventory governance.
- Partner with site teams to strengthen warehouse management practices and inventory discipline.
- Establish consistent monitoring and reporting processes to ensure inventory integrity.
Continuous Improvement & Standardization
- Lead change and transformation initiatives related to inventory management.
- Identify best practices across regions and deploy them globally.
- Standardize inventory control processes, KPIs, and operating routines across IMI sites.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement using practical, data-driven solutions.
Digitalization & SAP Integration
- Improve visibility and information flow between warehouses, planning teams, and management.
- Support the implementation and enhancement of SAP-based inventory processes and controls.
- Develop dashboards, reporting tools, and automation solutions to improve decision-making.
- Reduce manual activities and improve efficiency through process digitalization.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience leading inventory control, inventory optimization, or supply chain improvement initiatives in electronics manufacturing or related environment.
- Strong understanding of planning, materials management, warehouse operations, and inventory management principles.
- Demonstrated success delivering inventory reduction, process improvement, or transformation programs.
- Experience working across multiple sites, regions, or global operations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actions and business results.
- Experience with SAP and inventory reporting tools.
- Ability to influence stakeholders across functions and cultures.
- Practical, results-oriented leadership style with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, matrixed global organization.
