Job Position: General Practitioner (GP)
Job Description
- Provide outpatient consultations and primary medical care, including diagnosing, treating, and managing acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Perform minor surgical procedures, wound management, emergency stabilization, and trauma management.
- Conduct pre-employment, annual, and return-to-work medical examinations, and manage occupational health cases related to mining and petroleum support operations.
- Coordinate referrals to specialists and tertiary hospitals.
- Supervise nursing and allied health personnel, and maintain complete and accurate electronic medical records.
- Develop clinical protocols, treatment guidelines, quality assurance programs, and participate in infection prevention, workplace health programs, and medical emergency preparedness.
- Assist management in planning the expansion of medical services into a hospital.
Working Condition/Environment
- Can work in multi-cultural and remote environments
- Willing to be relocated and work in Papua New Guinea
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Doctor of Medicine (MS) or its equivalent recognized medical degree
- At least 2-5 years post-licensure clinical experience
- Experience in emergency medicine, occupational health in mining, oil, and gas industry or remote centered care
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, along with superior clinical judgement and patient-centered care
- High ethical and professional standards
- Strong documentation and reporting skills & high commitment to quality improvement and patient safety
- Proficient in electronic medical records and Microsoft Office application
- Willing to participate in healthcare facility development, accreditation on initiatives and continuous professional education
