Our client is a well-established European multinational in the food manufacturing and trading space, with a strong global footprint and a growing presence in Asia. The Philippines business is a key market, and they are looking to appoint a dynamic General Manager to lead and scale operations.
Role Overview
This is the #1 leadership role in the Philippines, responsible for driving overall business performance and strategic direction. The General Manager will oversee the full spectrum of functions including Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, and HR, leading a team of more than 20 employees.
Reporting directly to the Regional Director, this role requires a commercially driven and operationally strong leader with deep FMCG and trading experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the overall business operations in the Philippines, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability
- Drive sales and market expansion strategies to strengthen market share and revenue performance
- Oversee marketing initiatives to enhance brand positioning and customer engagement
- Ensure operational excellence across supply chain, production, and distribution
- Manage financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and profitability improvement
- Identify and implement cost optimization and efficiency improvement initiatives across the business
- Strengthen internal processes, governance, and controls in line with MNC standards
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team across all functions
- Collaborate closely with regional stakeholders to align local strategy with global objectives
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and corporate policies
Key Requirements:
- Proven leadership experience in a General Management or senior leadership role within FMCG, food manufacturing, or trading businesses
- Strong understanding of trading business models, including supply chain, distribution, and margin management
- Demonstrated track record in driving sales growth and improving business performance
- Experience in cost management, operational efficiency, and process improvement
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance strategic thinking and hands-on execution
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working in a multinational environment is highly preferred
- Based in or willing to relocate to Manila, Philippines
