About the Role
The Head of Integrated Materials Operations will oversee the strategic direction and day-to-day execution of a large-scale aggregates business. This position carries responsibility for operational performance across extraction sites, processing facilities, transportation networks, customer fulfillment, and business profitability.
The role requires a commercially minded operations leader capable of balancing production targets, workforce leadership, regulatory obligations, and long-term growth initiatives.
Major Areas of Accountability
Operational Leadership
- Direct all activities related to raw material extraction, processing, stock management, and product delivery.
- Establish operating plans that ensure reliable production output while maximizing asset efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement programs focused on productivity, operational excellence, and cost control.
- Ensure availability and optimal deployment of plant, equipment, and operational resources.
Commercial & Supply Management
- Work closely with commercial teams to align production schedules with market requirements.
- Oversee inventory planning, customer order fulfillment, and distribution performance.
- Support pricing, contract execution, and customer service initiatives through effective operational coordination.
- Ensure uninterrupted supply to key infrastructure, construction, and industrial customers.
Financial Stewardship
- Own operational budgets and business performance targets.
- Monitor profitability drivers and identify opportunities to improve margins.
- Evaluate investment opportunities related to equipment, facilities, and site development.
- Deliver performance against agreed financial and operational objectives.
Governance & Risk
- Champion workplace safety and environmental responsibility across all operating sites.
- Ensure compliance with government regulations, permits, and industry standards.
- Lead risk mitigation initiatives and maintain operational readiness for audits and inspections.
People & Organizational Development
- Build high-performing teams through coaching, succession planning, and leadership development.
- Provide direction to managers overseeing operations, maintenance, engineering, logistics, and support functions.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Industrial Operations, Geology, Earth Sciences, Business Management, or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of production planning, maintenance strategy, logistics, and supply chain execution.
- Familiarity with environmental, health, safety, and regulatory frameworks.
- Strong commercial awareness and business management capability.
