The General Manager's main role is overseeing the overall daily business activities and focuses on improving overall business functions from Operations down to the administrative side. An essential purpose for this role is also to provide direction in all the business functions of the site.
This role is responsible for improving efficiency and increasing site profits while managing the company's overall operations.
The General Manager provides leadership and guidance onsite to maintain a competent, motivated workforce, committed to a culture of HSSE, Integrity, and Reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Accountable for direction, growth, and management of the organization including:
- Control budgets and optimize expenses
- Design strategy and set goals for growth
- Ensure employees are motivated and productive
- Meeting contractual obligations while optimising cost and total operating expenditure
- Leading the implementation and compliance with the HSSE Management System and HSSE case onsite
- Manage customer relationships:
- Develop and implement effective communications protocols to achieve efficient day-to-day operations
- Establish and host operational meetings with stakeholders
- Develop and manage the effective implementation of operational processes to achieve sustainable high performance of the site:
- Operations and Maintenance Excellence
- Technical Assurance
- Delivery of Minor Modifications Projects
- Management of Change
- Emergency Response
Qualifications
Degree in business management or a masters in business administration.
Good knowledge of different business functions.
Strong leadership qualities.
Excellent communication skills
Highly organized
Strong work ethic
- Experience: At least 10-15 years of experience in a managerial role within a manufacturing environment.
- Skills/Training: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills; knowledge of production management, budgeting, and safety standards.
