We are partnering with an established marine solutions provider to appoint a General Manager (Commercial) to drive the commercial growth of its marine engine spares business.
This is a strategic commercial leadership position focusing on key account management, commercial excellence, and expanding the company's presence across the marine industry.
Sales & Business Development
- Develop and execute commercial strategies to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities within the marine engine spares market.
- Expand relationships with shipowners, ship managers, shipyards, and offshore customers.
- Drive sales growth through both existing accounts and new customer acquisition.
Key Account Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and decision-makers.
- Lead commercial negotiations, contract discussions, and pricing strategies.
- Conduct regular customer visits to understand operational requirements and identify opportunities.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
Team & Stakeholder Leadership
- Work closely with technical, procurement, and operations teams to deliver seamless customer support.
- Collaborate with overseas principals and suppliers to align commercial objectives and market strategies.
- Support and mentor members of the commercial team to foster a high-performance culture.
Market Intelligence & Strategy
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer requirements.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and business reports to senior management.
- Identify opportunities to broaden product offerings and increase market share.
Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering is a must
- Minimum 10-14 years of experience in marine sales, engine spares, power generators, technical commercial roles, or maritime business development.
- Proven track record of achieving sales growth and managing key accounts.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills.
- Familiarity with marine engine spare parts and the maritime industry is highly advantageous.
- Previous experience leading teams or managing regional accounts will be an advantage.
