Job Description

The General Ledger Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the company's general ledger accounting. This role plays a pivotal part in the month-end closing process, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for General Ledger Oversight: Oversee the maintenance of general ledger accounts, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments, to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Leads the Month-end Close: Lead and manage the month-end closing process, coordinating with the team to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Manages Account Reconciliations: Supervise general ledger account reconciliations, investigate and resolve discrepancies, and ensure accounts are reconciled regularly.
  • Supports Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring compliance with reporting standards.
  • Supports Audit Compliance: Prepare and provide documentation for internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to auditing standards.
  • Leads Compliance Efforts: Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, procedures, and relevant regulations, keeping up to date with accounting standards changes.
  • Responsible for Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement within the general ledger function, implementing changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Mentors and Develops Team: Provide guidance, training, and support to the general ledger team, fostering professional growth and development.

Work Experience Requirement:

  • Substantial experience in general ledger accounting or related roles, with a proven track record of supervisory experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and financial reporting tools.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
