The Accounting Supervisor – General Ledger (GL) is responsible for overseeing the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of financial records within the general ledger. This role ensures proper financial reporting, adherence to accounting standards, and timely reconciliation of accounts. The position also involves leading the accounting team, maintaining data integrity, and contributing to process improvements in financial reporting and analysis.
1. Financial Record & General Ledger Maintenance
- Supervises the preparation and review of journal entries and general ledger accounts.
- Ensures accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Performs bank reconciliations, financial record maintenance, and compliance checks.
2. System & Data Integrity
- Ensures accuracy and timeliness of data encoding and bookkeeping processes.
- Verifies computation accuracy for financial data.
- Supports budgeting and forecasting requirements by ensuring reliable financial data.
3. Leadership and Team Development
- Provides training, coaching, and mentoring to accounting staff to develop their capabilities.
- Promotes teamwork, confidence, and discipline among staff.
- Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.
4. Research & Best Practices
- Stays updated on accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and industry trends.
- Provides insights to improve financial strategies and GL processes.
5. Reports Generation
- Prepares and submits accurate and timely financial reports for management review.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of BS Accountancy, Management Accounting, Financial Accounting or its equivalent. CPA license is an advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in accounting/finance particularly in GL, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory role
- Technology savvy, must be proficient in using accounting software.
