Job Description

A General Ledger (GL) Accountant maintains a company's financial records by managing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and supporting month-end/year-end closing processes. They ensure compliance with PFRS, analyze financial data for accuracy, and assist in preparing financial statements. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in accounting software.

Key Responsibilities

  • Journal Entries & GL Maintenance: Prepare, record, and post daily, monthly, and adjusting journal entries (accruals, deferrals, depreciation).
  • Account Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, bank accounts, and intercompany transactions.
  • Month-End/Year-End Close: Execute closing procedures, ensuring all financial data is accurate and finalized within deadlines.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare, analyze, and verify financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement) to support management decisions.
  • Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing schedules, documentation, and explanations for account balances.
  • Compliance: Ensure all transactions and records comply with PFRS (Philippine Financial Reporting Standards), and company policies.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Preferably a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • Experience: minimum 3 years experience in accounting, with a focus on general ledger, reconciliation, and closing processes.
  • Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, QuickBooks).
  • Attributes: High attention to detail, strong analytical ability, and good communication skills.
